Theme: 3.5 Originality: 3.5 Creativity: 4.5 Construction: 3.5 Shane: You did a nice job on this fashion but it doesn’t quite go far enough with the transition or giving me a strong feel for your destination city. Your finishing on your fashion is wonderful. I didn't give you a higher construction score because I feel the dress should be more fitted through the bodice and waist and the bolero could also be more fitted. |
Theme: 5 Originality: 3.5 Creativity: 3.5 Construction: 4 Diana: I liked this, especially because a lot was done with classic pieces. And I also think the 1940s style of the outfit suits the model perfectly. Janet: Simple, classic lines and well-thought out. I wouldn't even have insisted on turning up the cuffs to show white for evening wear. It was enough to have a reversible jacket. |
Theme: 4 Originality: 3.5 Creativity: 3.5 Construction: 5 Judith: Very simple outfit that never the less fits the challenge. The scarf works well transforming the outfit from day to evening but I think more could have been done to make the transformation more obvious. A little more detail in the overall design would have enhanced the look. Fits the Canada theme beautifully. |
Theme: 2 Originality: 2 Creativity: 2 Construction: 2 Rudi Teruel: I can see the design fitting the place…. I just do not see the transition from day to nite… too simple…. And the construction is a bit off… not very well fitted… could have been executed better as the designs are simple enough… |

Theme: 3.5 Originality: 4.5 Creativity: 4.5 Construction: 4 Shane: Great job on your transition but I’m not sure that Lillith would have been carrying that extra set of shoes in the cabin with her. Your day look is fantastic and your night look is glamorous. I can see the trace of a silhouette for a Grecian Goddess. |
Theme: 5 Originality: 4.5 Creativity: 4.5 Construction: 4.5 Diana: I thought this was quite imaginative, and was amazed at the difference between the Day/Night looks. Janet: I was also very impressed with the dramatic change between day and night. I realize the 2 pairs of shoes were an addition, but most women carry 2 pairs when they travel. |
Theme: 4 Originality: 4.5 Creativity: 4.5 Construction: 5 Judith: Great description! Love the hairdo and the tights/turban idea, very clever! The reversible shawl is resourceful. The necklace used as a belt – very nifty! Overall, a very modern and chic solution to the challenge. Love the color choice. My concern is with the 2 pairs of shoes. Where did the sandals come from?
|
Theme: 4 Originality: 4 Creativity: 5 Construction: 4 Rudi Teruel: VERY DKNY! But still you made it your OWN!!! Works for me and I can see DOLLIES everywhere donning the look.
NOTE: You also used 2 pairs of shoes – 1 pair too many according to the RULES! |

3. Anita Stoklosa |
Theme: 5 Originality: 5 Creativity: 5 Construction: 4.5 Shane: You made me smile at the thought of Adele pulling out her needle and thread – great job on being extra creative with your transition and I love both looks! Your second speaks well to your destination city. You have done a wonderful job on construction though the inset of the sleeves on the jacket is a bit puffy. |
Theme: 5 Originality: 4 Creativity: 4 Construction: 4.5 Diana: This is an excellent example of the destination setting the tone for the design. The final effect was perfect for Carnival - Dressy, but just a bit "over-the-top". Good Work! Janet: Really interesting effect in rolling up the pants. I also agree that the destination site helped set the tone. |
Theme: 5 Originality: 4.5 Creativity: 4 Construction: 5 Judith: Very detailed description and ingenious transformation! A little contrived as a result but still works well. Nicely tailored jacket and pieces. Love the idea of the necklace used as a belt. A very exotic and meticulous solution to this challenge.
|
Theme: 3 Originality: 3 Creativity: 3 Construction: 4 Rudi Teruel: The day part looks nice, but nothing we have not seen many times over… the night time part is just a bit too much for me in -- every way… too many things going on and am not sure they really work together…. |

4. Kathrin Eseryel |
Theme: 4 Originality: 4.5 Creativity: 4.5 Construction: 5 Shane: Your fashion is gorgeous and impeccably made. The transition is not quite as strong and it doesn’t go as far in reflecting the destination city as others in this challenge. |
Theme: 4 Originality: 3.5 Creativity: 3.5 Construction: 4 Diana: I liked the overall effect of the ensemble, especially the well-tailored coat. But I don't know that the outfit really meets the challenge in an imaginative way. Although the top is removed to show the dress, nothing really changes to create an entirely new look. Janet: I love the colors and the contrast between the black, white and plum. I believe the changes were simple...but, realistic. That's what a woman would do. |
Theme: 5 Originality: 5 Creativity: 5 Construction: 5 Judith: Gorgeous!! A perfect makeover from day to evening. A fabulous combination of pieces, beautifully tailored in an elegant and contemporary color palette. Nothing is out of place in either outfit, down to the transposing of the chain from necklace to belt.
|
Theme: 5 Originality: 4 Creativity: 4 Construction: 5 Rudi Teruel: Nice interpretation and nicely executed…. Pieces work together well enough – and actually reflects the doll used… but I see HINTS of many different designers in most of the pieces…

5. Dal Lowenbein - Winner |
Theme: 5 Originality: 5 Creativity: 5 Construction: 5 Shane: Olé! You’ve done a fantastic job on your day-to-night transition AND reflecting your destination city AND doing it in a truly stylish manner! |
Theme: 5 Originality: 4 Creativity: 4.5 Construction: 5 Diana: Your write up was correct - that coat was the star of the show! It's hard to imagine how such an elaborate coat could become a classic London weather wear...but it did! The skirt was a big hit with me, partly because I believe it wold work well at the dinner party. Janet: Dramatic changes and the coat was a real hit with me, too. Obviously a lot of time spent thinking about the challenge, and it showed. |
Theme: 5 Originality: 4.5 Creativity: 4 Construction: 5 Judith: Very interesting and complicated outfit. Great tie in with the country chosen. All the pieces convert well from day to evening. I think, however the plaid cap and elephant bag are slightly out of place with the rest of the pieces in the outfit and a more appropriate solution could have been chosen. Love the detail in the skirt and the way it matches back to the silk coat, but I think the braid trim on the coat is too big a scale and draws too much attention. Overall a very clever design that is beautifully tailored and demonstrates great inspiration.
|
Theme: 5 Originality: 5 Creativity: 5 Construction: 5 Rudi Teruel: A WINNER in everyway… to be able to realized the design – from interpretation to reality – and be able to make everything work together – just GREAT! And it is AMAZING how the reversible clothing actually do not look too bulky… |

6. Emilia Nieminen |
Theme: 4 Originality: 4 Creativity: 4 Construction: 5 Shane: I just don’t feel that there is enough of a transition here though you have done a very nice job reflecting your destination city. I LOVE your armor dress. I knew exactly what it was before reading your description – it’s near perfect. I’m afraid I can’t love the silhouette of your coat over the dress – it’s almost there but just misses for me – I think it’s probably the way it bells out and drapes over the skirt of the dress. |
Theme: 4 Originality: 4 Creativity: 4 Construction: 4 Diana: I really, really liked the dress, and the over-all effect of the ensemble but i'm not sure it met the challenge as well as it could have. Pieces were removed but didn't really change in an interesting way. However, the details - gloves, boots, accessories - were fabulous. Janet: I was also impressed by the accessories. The dress was detailed. I would, however, have made it 2-piece and altered it, by bringing in a separate peice, such as a top. |
Theme: 5 Originality: 4.5 Creativity: 4.5 Construction: 5 Judith: Interesting description! A very dramatic design including a great Spanish touch with the fringing on the shawl. Love the theatrical cut of the dress and the fall of the back peplum layers. Not much in the way of transformation takes place from day to evening but still an inspired solution to the challenge. Love the boots to heels and the meticulous tailoring!
|
Theme: 5 Originality: 5 Creativity: 5 Construction: 5 Rudi Teruel: As colorful as the Spanish people are – this knock out design will WIN them over AS IS! Very nice, creative interpretation of the theme… and everything is nicely executed… SLEEK, SEXY, SUPERB!!! |

7. Vicky Lujan |
Theme: 4 Originality: 3.5 Creativity: 3.5 Construction: 4 Shane: I love your rhinestone-studded skin-tight jeans! Glad to know that Ellowyne was able to sit in them on her flight. Very nice job on your construction. |
Theme: 4 Originality: 3.5 Creativity: 3.5 Construction: 3.5 Diana: Simple, but effective. Although the top was the only reversible piece, it did create an evening look for the event. Your jeans are terrific! Janet: The reversible top was very realistic, and the little glint on the jeans was a nice touch for the evening event. |
Theme: 4 Originality: 3.5 Creativity: 3.5 Construction: 4.5 Judith: The jeans are a perfect fit! Very cute print on the top and it reverses well. I think for this challenge though, more could have done to give the outfit a point of difference. Love the description! |
Theme: 2 Originality: 2 Creativity: 2 Construction: 3 Rudi Teruel: Design shows the designer’s personality and love for the Country style… a bit too simple though - especially in the CREATIVITY Department. |

8. Pauline Lyngard |
Theme: 3.5 Originality: 3 Creativity: 3 Construction: 4 Shane: I like the idea of your wrap dress and you now have me wondering what these look like on humans. In comparison to other entrants your transition and reflection of your destination city needs to be stronger. Your idea for your coat is very interesting but the felt doesn’t work well with the vinyl in my opinion. |
Theme: 4 Originality: 4 Creativity: 4 Construction: 3.5 Diana: In my opinion, the coat was the star of the show. I enjoyed its dramatic silhouette that would turn heads in any crowd. I'm not sure the dress portion worked as well as it could have. Janet: The unlined coat was a surprise, construction-wise. But I do believe there were significant changes from day to night. |
Theme: 4.5 Originality: 4.5 Creativity: 3.5 Construction: 5 Judith: Terrific description and the design fits the bill well. Love the interchangeable dress, very clever! The coat sleeves are different and very high fashion but in this case I think sleeves of the same fabric would have been a more cohesive solution, either full or ¾ length and a little less flare in the skirt would have achieved a better silhouette. Perhaps a lighter weight fabric would have been a better choice. Cute tights. Not sure about the feathers but a fun outfit.
|
Theme: 4 Originality: 3 Creativity: 4 Construction: 3 Rudi Teruel: I like the multiple pieces that can be worn in so many ways… love the color choices… the downfall for me has to be with the coat – could have used a different material that would show off the cut better. |

9. Irina Koroleva |
Theme: 3 Originality: 3 Creativity: 4 Construction: 5 Shane: The transition on this fashion doesn’t seem to meet one of the main requirements of the challenge considering Alice’s luggage would have been lost; she would need to get creative with what she had worn onto the plane. She appears to pull the beaded top out of no-where. Maybe it was in the backpack but that seems to go against the spirit of this challenge. Your look is nice and very well made. |
Theme: 3.5 Originality: 3.5 Creativity: 4 Construction: 4.5 Diana: The crystal and bead embroidered top was perfect for the city as well as the event. I wished the lowered lighting would have allowed us to see the details of the whole ensemble better. I feel as though I missed too much. Janet: The beaded embroidery was beautiful work. I wasn't able to see a dramatic change from day to night, but it was realistic. |
Theme: 4 Originality: 3.5 Creativity: 4 Construction: 4.5 Judith: Great research for this Russian based outfit. Obviously a lot of work has gone into creating this style. However, she seems to have been prepared for her evening out as opposed to having to transform what she was wearing. Love the thought behind the beaded top and the very appropriate color palette..
|
Theme: 2 Originality: 2 Creativity: 3 Construction: 3 Rudi Teruel: Though the pieces work together, again – I feel the design is just way too simple… still lacking the creativity aspect for me. |

10. Breck Sullivan-Carpenter |
Theme: 4 Originality: 4 Creativity: 4 Construction: 5 Shane: This is a fun fashion that I can see would work well for New York. Your transition is not as strong as some others in this particular challenge. The knits are coming across as a bit too bulky for the look. |
Theme: 4 Originality: 3.5 Creativity: 4 Construction: 4 Diana: This design struck me as "true to life" - a style a real person would wear, and then re-invent in an emergency. The orange shoes were a terrific splash of color. Janet: I know that a lot of thought went into the knit top design, and I thought it was an interesting approach. |
Theme: 4.5 Originality: 4.5 Creativity: 3.5 Construction: 4.5 Judith: Simple but smart outfit. Love the description. The clever transformation works well but I think would have looked better in a finer knit for the gray pullover. It looks chunky as an evening top. Great layering!
|
Theme: 2 Originality: 2 Creativity: 2 Construction: 3 Rudi Teruel: Well, I was lost in the sweater doubling as an evening top… would have been fine with most everything but that one threw me off and could not get pass it… I think reversing the vest (back to front) would have made a better look for an evening out… minus that ruffled skirt… |

11. Jen Eugley |
Theme: 5 Originality: 4 Creativity: 5 Construction: 5 Shane: At first I was not going to give you such a high mark for theme because transitioning to a simple dress is an expected solution. But then you went and created a 2nd transition and a third look with your reversible dress! I love it and you surprised me so you get the highest mark on theme. |
Theme: 4.5 Originality: 4 Creativity: 3.5 Construction: 4 Diana: A good effect, and it was clear you understood the challenge. Also very much "real life". I had the feeling I'd passed by this young woman in an airport somewhere! Janet: I was impressed by the reversible top/dress, and I liked the neckline. Good for you! |
Theme: 5 Originality: 4.5 Creativity: 4.5 Construction: 5 Judith: One word: CUTE. Sweet outfit with hoodie and flats….. makes for a simple and elegant party frock outfit. Love the storyline and transformation that goes with it. Great contrast color palette for the youth of the model. |
Theme: 3 Originality: 3 Creativity: 3 Construction: 4 Rudi Teruel: Not bad and actually fits an Oregon Girl…. However, clubbing in Manhattan with that scarf would not be HIP at all…. Still, nice interpretation of the Challenge… |

12. Lori Lyon |
Theme: 4.5 Originality: 5 Creativity: 5 Construction: 5 Shane: I absolutely adore your work on this challenge! Your coat and dress are just beautiful! You have done a wonderful job on the transition but I don’t feel that you have reflected your destination city as clearly as others have. |
Theme: 4 Originality: 3.5 Creativity: 4 Construction: 4 Diana: Bravo on the trench coat and also the dress! I thought these two pieces were especially nice. Although the look did change, the garment pieces themselves didn't actually change, and it would have been more imaginative if they had. I also thought the grandmother's brooch was an excellent touch. Janet: All the pieces were well made and looked lovely. I was looking for a greater change and I would have made the lace bottom a slip for daytime, and allow it to hang longer in the evening, for a glamourous look.
|
Theme: 5 Originality: 5 Creativity: 5 Construction: 5 Judith: Perfect combination of pieces to apply the transformation from day to evening. Great description for a gorgeous outfit! The satin trench is a pretty shade that tones well with the floral chiffon. Love the black lace petticoat frill, only obvious when the tights are removed. |
Theme: 5 Originality: 5 Creativity: 5 Construction: 5 Rudi Teruel: This one works for me as well, the design reflects the doll of choice – youthfulness, fun, frilly… and still carries the air of sophistication – just as most Parisians do…. also refreshing to see something young and very modern done creatively. |

13. Wanda Kinnie |
Theme: 4.5 Originality: 3 Creativity: 4 Construction: 5 Shane: This entry just doesn’t seem to meet the requirements of this challenge. There is next to no transition and I can’t see how it reflects a destination city which is not even described. |
Theme: 3 Originality: 3 Creativity: 3.5 Construction: 3 Diana: Although I quite enjoyed the overall effect of the outfit, it didn't meet the challenge as well as it could have. Very little actually changed to give the effect of an evening ensemble. However, you did choose a great model for your design - she looks the part. Janet: I was a bit disappointed that there wasn't more to the second ensemble. I would have had her wearing a large shawl, which she could have wrapped around her waist as a sarong skirt.
|
Theme: 2.5 Originality: 2.5 Creativity: 2.5 Construction: 3 Judith: Great inspiration behind this design but lacks the finesse to make it stand on its own. Not enough of a change to turn this style from day to night. The makings of an interesting design are all there and with a little more thought to detail and description this fabric could work well. |
Theme: 2 Originality: 2 Creativity: 2 Construction: 3 Rudi Teruel: Though nicely executed, I feel that there is no reflection from DAY TO NITE at all…
