Challenge Two
My model is definitely putting her best foot forward. Inspired by the soles of a Dior shoe, I created my own pair using jewelry components to form heels and soles. With such fantastic shoes, my model needed a simple silhouette. Using Dior as further inspiration, I created my version of a 'New Look' using unconventional fabric combination of gold micro sequined mesh for the skirt and topped it off with the fitted jacket of a dark rose and gold cross dye cotton, fully lined in gold silk taffeta. Accessories include the dark brown snakeskin sandals, gold buckled snakeskin belt and stylish snakeskin purse. Also a Swarovski crystal choker finishes the look, and takes her from day to evening. Challenge Three
Em-bel-lish: v. 1. To add beauty or ornamentation; decorate. 2. To heighten the interest of by adding details.
I was inspired for this challenge by one of the great periods in fashion that was extravagant in embellishment-the 18th century. Silk ribbon embroidery and scattered seed beads embellish a silk brocade corset, that has a black velvet bow and Swarovski crystal flower accenting the front. It is paired up with a taffeta plaid ruched skirt and embroidered mesh top. The skirt is further embellished with hand applied pink and gold lace applique. Black tights and black satin pumps with black crystal flower accents on top complete her look.

Challenge Four
Basilisk
Inspired by the mythical creature, it is said to have the head of a bird and the body of a snake, and that it kills by merely looking into its eyes.
I created a very fitted jacket of a deep red faux snakeskin, with a zippered front and large draped collar. It is paired with a cut velvet and chiffon short skirt with snakelike draped tail. A molded gold lace cap with feather headpiece covers one eye to prevent that deadly stare. Last are a pair of handmade snakeskin platform boots that she balances on with out heels, coiled and ready to strike.

Challenge Five
Whenever you hear about the red carpet, most people think of the Oscars. My muse arrived at the Oscars wearing a taupe lace with silver thread strapless gown that is, oh so daring, with an iridescent chiffon lining. The lace (which was actually a paneled vest that has now been recycled into this gown) has been hand beaded at the bodice and hemline to add that touch of glam. The strapless bodice is iridescent taupe silk taffeta, that has been shirred and manipulated into dramatic decollete. At the center front, is a light aqua velvet bow adorned with flowers. She kept her accessories simple, since a necklace took away from the beautiful neckline of her gown, she stayed with just a simple evening bag of an aqua beaded brocade. Challenge Six
Inspired by Audrey-When you think of Audrey Hepburn, you think of a classic look that never goes out of style. A classic little 60's dress, inspired by Audrey, fits the muse Antoinette perfectly. Made of off white wool blend, lightweight crepe, it has the decollete Sabrina neckline, fitted midriff and slightly gathered straight skirt accented by the whimsical black ribbon belt with bow front. Over the dress, is the matching coat, A-line cut with a stand away collar, split open front and hidden pockets. It also features the three-quarter sleeve Audrey loved so well. Contrasting black ball buttons accent the coat front. Both pieces are completely lined in white silk habotai. Her classic look is finished off by a simple little black patent purse and large black sunglasses.

Challenge Seven
Challenge Eight
Katia isn't new to having her luggage lost en route. So she knows when traveling to make sure she has pieces on that will take her from day to night. She starts with the street wear look of layering, an embellished graphic tee over her dress to make it more casual for day wear. Underneath she wears black leggings, and over it all a stylish, modernized trench from the Spring 2010 collections. Katia accessorizes with mary jane stylized platforms and floral printed mesh scarf held closed by her grandmother's cameo brooch. She also travels with her beloved metallic gold leather satchel that hold a few extras for her transformation to night.
Once in Paris, she checks into her hotel to change for the party that night in honor of the new Spring Couture collections being shown this week. Katia quickly fixes her hair into a little more wild do. She switches her leggings to mesh anklets, and removes her tee, and scarf. Her dress, that was underneath the tee, is of silk floral chiffon, bias cut with a draped neckline and spaghetti straps. It has a cute ruffled hemline which from underneath peeks out black lace. Katia dons her trench once again, this time adding her cameo and a few other brooches to dress up for nighttime. Unfortunately, she left in such a hurry, she forgot her necklaces! Oh no, she hopes the brooches are enough for the Paris crowd.
