Challenge One

I have always loved Goth and have made several outfits in this style. so when I saw the first challenge, I knew exactly which footwear I would use. I choose red dupioni silk for the underdress. The corsetted overdress is black dupioni silk with a black lace overlay. Another thing I am also partial too are bustles, so the skirt is raised in the back in a simulated bustle. I chose to give the skirt of the overdress an asymmetrical hemline to frame the boots perfectly. The short fingerless gloves are made from the black lace overlay material. This design features a handmade necklace. In my extra photos, Ellowyne takes flowers to the cemetary and gets a nasty surprise!

Challenge Two

Dorothy's adventures are a little different here on the wasteland.  She trudges through the post apocalyptic desert grabbing everything she can find.  Dorothy pins anything she can use to her outfit in case it comes in handy.  She has pinned several pieces of gingham to the back that she found in an deserted shop.  She walks the wastes in a suede jacket with oversized zipper and detatched gauntlet.   She wears her old gingham dress that has survived a lot, only the straps being torn off the back.  She has altered it into a halter top and hoisted the front of the skirt with straps so as not to get it dirty.  Some wisps of threads hang from the skirt as it is starting to show signs of wear.  Of course, Dorothy cannot be without her ruby slippers (my second attempt at making my own shoes).

Challenge Three

This is a triumph. I'm making a note here...HUGE SUCCESS. It's hard to overstate my satisfaction in completing this deconstructed evening gown. After overcoming creative block, it suddenly came to me what I wanted to do. I made a simple black dress with unfinished edges. Then I added a houndstooth corset and deconstructed train.

Challenge Four

For the details challenge I decided to my take on business "day wear".  I created an extremely fitted skirt and top.  Using a cream plaid material I attempted to make the collar appear to look like a kimono collar creating a low neck line.  The skirt has a ruffle embelishment out the back to give it that extra flare.  The closure was done in velcro so that it would not be too bulky with snaps or buttons.  I also created a gold necklace and bracelet to go with the ensemble.  Nylons and shoes were purchased.

Challenge Five

Joining forces with Admiral Big Daddy, Colonel Momoko goes hunting for Military artifacts in a remote warehouse.  She finds what she is looking for, a book containing all the secrets of a once great military leader.  Will she use these secrets for good or evil?  Only time will tell.

Momoko's look includes a gown of only the finest silk.  Over which she wears a brown suede corset.  The corset is held closed with a straight pin in a very industrial style.  She wears a shrug jacket showing off the same silk as the dress.  Details include a pocket watch on the front of her corset, a note pad hanging from her hip (for keeping track of all her own military secrets) and wings on her lapels and flight hat.
