Challenge Two
I wanted to do a modern design around T- Strap shoes. These were the only shoes in my collection suitable for this purpose. White shoes to me mean summer and skin. I love the idea of hard vs. soft and decided to make ruffled T-straps to go with a more tailored dress. I thought the animal print ultra suede would provide the perfect contrast.
The strapless dress is made of ultra suede. Pattern is my own. Shoe ruffles are pleated chiffon with fabric paint edging. Decided not to press my luck and make a bag as I’ve never done one. I had ordered one that should have arrived by Friday but will probably show up tomorrow.

Challenge Three
I was once lucky to view an Elsa Schiaparelli original jacket close up at the MET on FIT day. The detail was beyond exquisite and I will never forget the tulip shaped pockets. In homage to Schaparelli, I made a magenta Pendleton wool jacket, lined with changeable poly “silk” and embellished with velvet appliqués and caviar beading. The jacket is worn over sand washed silk Matador pants with on seam pockets and braid down the side seams.
My model is Jason Wu’s Eclectic Avant Garde

Challenge Four
Avante Garde and Edgy to me meant something new, fresh, a twist on a prior theme. I created a pair of fur trimmed high waisted pants, a wrap jacket with fur collar and cuffs and a cowl neck top. The pant fabric is mini-houndstooth of undetermined origin-probably polyester, the jacket is a fully lined cotton blend, the top is a silk knit.
