Challenge Two
Before I could even begin to sew an outfit I had to make boots. The Delilah doll I got came nude and there are no shoes listed anywhere to fit her!The boots started out to be plain but I found a piece of faux mink lying on the floor under my industrial machine and I had to use it! After the boots were done the design for the outfit solidified into what I wanted to make.I described my vision to my mom who went to the barn and pulled out 40+year old mohair and silk fabric from Sakowitz which became the skirt. My vision for this is a young Russian girl traveling but with a modern flair. Her cape is made of antique velvet and faux mink with gold embellishments and closures it is lined in apricot silk. The blouse is a faux silk(Nylon)with the mohair/silk on the sleeves. the piping is hair spun out of multiple strands of thread. Her hat is made of the mink and skirt material.
Challenge Three
My inspiration for this confection was three things. I took elements from Chinese and Japanese art and architecture and Monet to form the fusion for this creation. The bodice is inspired by a pagoda roof with flowers and vines growing on it. The skirt is done in two layers. The first part is the sheath and petals which are silver lame under a watercolour sheer. Then I made the attached under skirt out of fine sheer net. I made the silver shoes from a pair of old black pumps which I cut down and painted then embellished with matching flowers. Her hair has handmade hair sticks with beaded and crystal drops. The flowers are silk made from several flowers of different colours to get just what I wanted. The corded trim was hand made from many colours of silk thread rope spun.

Challenge Four
My inspiration was a child's ride on a carnival carousel. The bodice is red and gold embossed leather with a metallic inset. The underskirt is black spandex with colourful sparkles and a silver and gold lace edge. The leggings are sheer silver to gold changing mesh. I made the outerskirt out of a hat type straw with an elastic waist it carries 4 hand decorated carousel animals. Her Cotton candy purse is handmade and opens on top to reveal a mirror inside the lid. I also hand made her wig and hat out of the same straw base as the skirt and mohair. Her sandals are also handmade from Lead crystal, leather and ribbon. Can you hear the Hurdygurdy???
