Challenge Two

This really served a dual purpose.  Not only was I creating something for the CDDC but I also am donating this creation with the doll to a charity auction this month.  So I figured I would kill 2 birds with one stone.  My style is gothic normally but I wanted to do something a bit different.  It is kind of a formal maybe more modern take on a Victorian gown.  (she is supposed to represent one of the 7 sins for the auction but I did not want to add the props to take away from competition.  It is amazing what plain white boots can inspire one to make!

Challenge Three

I wanted to do a gothic inspired dress but something with pizzazz. I put small little buttons on her bodice of silver, adde the chain to compliment the silver on her ensemble and made a cute bubble dress. Her boots complete the effect with the matching chain.

Challenge Four

I was not really sure what I was going to create with this challenge except I wanted to do some kind of funky pant and I wanted a green shade.  Well. I went with both.  The pants are an iridescent pattern stretch that I tried making into a flow below the knee.  Her sleeves are an emerald green that she can wear, or take off, they work as separate pieces.  They are gathered and small puckers are made down the sleeve line.  Her belt brings out the shade of gray in the pants and attached is her bodice which is a clear smoky gray that I took off of buckles, made out of plastic.  She has a dark brown ribbon attached to her bodice that ties behind her head.  I call her Going Green because her outfit is completely recyclable.

Challenge Five

My girl is a Eugenia that I repainted and is now Chelsea Lee and is ready to walk the red carpet at the CMA (that’s Country Music Awards for all you non country folk).  Her dress I drew inspiration from the fabulous outfits that Shania Twain wears at her functions and awards.  She even found the perfect boots to match the dress perfectly.  So even if she doesn’t win an award, she is a winner in her dress.

Challenge Seven

I kept thinking more of what Betty Draper would wear to a cocktail party or one of the many meetings she has at her house. I came up with an ivory dress with a smiple, yet elegant floral pattern of pinks and a touch of silver. Her dress also has a complimenting silver embellishment at the neckline and she sports an ivory piece that goes around her waist to finish her ensemble. She also wears matching pink shoes, that match the pink lining of her dress.
